Industrial Lighting RFQ Checklist: What to Send Your Supplier

Send clearer project information, receive more accurate lighting proposals and compare supplier quotations on a common basis.

A useful lighting quotation needs more than product quantity and wattage. The more clearly the application is defined, the easier it is to compare optical performance, controls and long-term cost.

Project information

  • Site type and location
  • CAD or dimensioned PDF plan
  • Mounting height and available positions
  • Target lux, uniformity or relevant standard
  • Operating hours and control expectations

Product requirements

  • Input voltage and frequency
  • Required CCT and CRI
  • IP, IK and corrosion requirements
  • Dimming or communication protocol
  • Emergency, sensor and surge protection needs

Commercial requirements

  • Estimated quantity and delivery schedule
  • Required certifications and test reports
  • Packaging or labeling requirements
  • Incoterm and destination port

Ask for comparable evidence

Request the same set of photometric files, reports, drawings and warranty terms from each supplier. This helps prevent a low-cost quotation from hiding a different optical or electrical specification.
